Web 2.0 Tools

Here are the Web 2.0 Tools that I looked into.
1. PlayPostIt.com
2. Prezi.com
3. Animoto.com
4. Blendspace.com
5. Smore.com

PlayPostIt.com

I was unsure how to embed this or to even get the link to the video, but I found a wonderful lesson on the TED Talks by Eric Whitacre.  He is an amazing composer and has done incredible things with technology.  I have showed my students his videos before and had class discussions on them but this activity helps them go above and beyond to really understand this video and what it took to make it.

It is the first link under Music lessons.  I was unable to find any resources on this website and it's use in the classroom.

Prezi.com

I absolutely LOVE Prezi! I usually do a PowerPoint slideshow with announcements at the beginning of class.  This is something fresh and new that will grab their attention better.  This would also be a great formative or summative assessment for students to demonstrate knowledge in a creative way.  Prezi allows you to embed videos, pictures, etc. into your slides.  There are many, many settings and different tools to play with so students are able to be as creative as they can be.

  1. Great Prezi, Kim. Sometimes I don't think people understand how physically demanding being part of a well choreographed marching band can be. Thanks for sharing.
