Integration Lesson 2

In my Honors Orchestra class, they will begin class by watching Mendelsohn Violin Concerto in E Minor. Using a Google Doc, Write at least 5 musical techniques you noticed Hilary Hahn using.  List 5 musical techniques you noticed other instrumentalists in the ensemble using (Can include the conductor).  Share them with the instructor.  They will then pair up with a friend and compare all 10 things they noticed.  With the combined list, students will then create a joint blog entry informing new strings students how to do these techniques.  Students will be graded on accuracy and demonstration of techniques, creativity, video editing, and originality.  This is a partner project.  Students will film each other using the different techniques (if fewer than 10 techniques were found, students will brainstorm other techniques).  Both students must be filmed demonstrating techniques.  Students will film the videos using the school set of iPods.  Students will receive 1 day to film and then 1 day to edit the film in the computer lab using iMovie.  Finished projects are to be turned in to the instructor via Google Drive.
